About Us

Who are we and what is our vision?

Maybe the question should be,"What is your  vision?"

I began my career in building in 1997 as a roofer at a commercial roofing company. I admit it was not the job of my dreams as much as the first job I obtained in the construction industry. I stuck with it for a few months and enjoyed aspects of learning how these guys were water proofing buildings. I did always wonder why they put rocks on hospital roofs. I never would have guessed that was to weigh down the rubber from flying away. Interesting!

However I never mastered commercial roofing, yet I was exposed to the concepts. Soon after, I met a framer/roofer named Bill. He liked to lay shingles for roofing on churches and refused to use pneumatic nail guns, so I had plenty of time to practice with my roofing hatchet. He has passed on to glory by now but his,"whatever it takes!" motive stuck with me. I finally quit working with him after he and I argued over whether I could not read a tape measure or he was incapable of hearing. Bear with me, both were true at that time.

By 2000 I began working for a framing crew or 5. It was heavy, hot, cold, dry and wet. Oddly I enjoyed muddy days the most. At this point I changed my thought process from job to career. Framing is what I wanted to do. I was young, nimble, and just stubborn enough not to get run off the job site. in 2005 my daughter was born, and I stepped out in faith to start my own crew. The American dream! Well truthfully sometimes it was a nightmare. I made 1000 mistakes, but I learned from 900 of them. Ultimately my business dream only lasted a couple of years, but I adapted. During 2007 to 2008 I had began to take smaller jobs requiring less employees, such as tiling, flooring, decks, and punch-out lists for contractors.

2008 was a scary year for a young fellow growing a career in home building;  the work just stopped, and I was left scratching my head. Times were tough, so I had to learn something new. I met a business guy with plenty of work and continued to learn new skills. He was rehabbing buildings to create affordable housing for a non-profit. I did not always know how to do what was needed to be done but didn't mind researching and adapting. I soon learned how to do plumbing, drywall, plus various decision-making skills. After the projects were finished I was propositioned to take the job maintaining the building and the properties the company had acquired. I was then maintenance lead and soon promoted to supervisor of a few good men.

So here we are! I bought my home in Woodbine Nashville neighborhood in 2014, Amazing! Nashville; Woodbine has come a long way in 10 years. As I make my way around this city I see beautiful developments as well as homes in disrepair. I'm not sure the growth will last forever, but with a great property maintenance company available these structures can last. From historic homes to new developments things go wrong, paint fades, trees fall down, debris and rubbish pile up and properties become distressed.
